Hi folks, I am a new member to the forum.

I had posted this in the wrong category. Oops!!

I have a 2008 c200 cdi se. It has bluetooth for my phone built in and that works fine. Does anyone know if it can also play music directly from my smartphone phone too? Can anyone explain the procedure to set this up?

Many thanks in advance

Chris

I don't think it's possible since I assume that you have Audio 20 CD? I had similar problems with wifes C-Class and it's only possible to use Bluetooth for phone calls.

Hi,

I have a 2012 C Class and once the phone is connected (Android or IOS) I can select Bluetooth Audio Device from the Audio 20 menu and the music plays without a problem. Not sure if anything has changed between the models.

Hi Chris and welcome.

Sorry to disappoint, but Bluetooth music streaming is a relatively recent addition to Mercedes-Benz cars (circa MY2011) and your car doesn't have it.

Thank you for your replies folks. Very helpful bunch, you all seem to be.

Is there a solution to this problem? I dont know the radio model so I'll assume its the audio 20 if that's what would be standard on the car. A friend said it may be possible to connect a cable to the back of the radio somewhere then plug a usb stick with music on it into the other end. He didn't say this with any degree of conficence though, more of a suggestion I suppose. And if it were possible how would you control the music choice?

Many thanks
Chris

Chris!

There are a couple of options; Navigation 20 (replaces Universal Media Interface) - that may be a kind of DIY job but with limitations.

Another option is to retrofit COMAND, then you'll get full functionality (and then you might not need AD2P at all).

These links will provide plenty of information regarding COMAND upgrades. Navigation 20 is something that your MB dealer sells as well.

Thanks for your prompt reply Kingpin!
Is it not possible to connect a cable and just have it in the glove box with a USB stick thingy? Your options seem quite nice but a bit pricey for a few tunes. Maybe I'll just sing to myself!!

I don't remember but it may have 3.5mm plug in the glove compartment but that's a audio/aux in then and not possible to "control" which I assume you were looking for.

Yes, in an ideal world a degree of control would be very nice. How does it work when you simply use the plug?

Hi, I am a newby too. I have a 2011 c350 with command and cannot get audio to work via Bluetooth or get comand to access my contacts on my iPhone 5, apologise in advance if this is answered elsewhere, but would a firmware update on comand solve this???

Thanks in advance
