I have a 55 plate 320d se and am intrested in geting it chipped I have been told to increase my bhp from 160 to 200 + which will improve my performance and fuel economy what is the truth behind this and how does it effect my insurance?:confused::confused:

You can safely go from 163 bhp to 195 bhp and 340 Nm Torque to 400Nm anything past that and you are pushing your luck and dramatically increasing engine component wear. We have a 520d with the same engine as yours running 198 bhp and thats been ultra reliable over 62,000 miles with no adverse effects.

Choose your mapper carefully,Angel Tuning have a very good rep on here but never used them myself but plenty of satisfied customers.

Yes it will affect your insurance but different insurers take different views on how to adjust the premium so worth checking first.

Probably a google search that threw up this place.
