The 8 Series was a flop mainly due to unfortunate timing with it's release coupled to an astronomical price tag. It's no more a 4 seater than a 911 either. I've even heard it described in a very uncharitable fashion as a rich mans Ford Probe.....
However, now depreciation has taken it's toll, I think it makes for a great toy - I used one as a daily driver for a few years & the only real pain was the lack of luggage space - the boot was relatively small & although the rear seats folded flat, it was difficult to actually get anything in there owing to the limited opening the front seats offered.
Buy one & enjoy it. I think we're probably about the last generation that'll get to enjoy motoring, so it's only right we play our part ...I just need a much bigger garage....
