E300 td tomtom sat nav in car dvd
three lanes traffic lights slip road to motorway, blasted the A**E out of a 325 convertable, his face as he read my turbodiesel badge, priceless. :bannana:

Isn't diesel grunt just fabulous :)

I did a similar thing with a 330i who pulled up next to me at the lights and then hoofed it, he couldn't loose me at all!

Nor could Steve bcs in his Aston Martin on country roads.

In a similar vein, I experienced a 2.6 petrol being blown away by a diesel Skoda Fabia. Unfortunately I was on the receiving end and was so embarrassed I turned off before the next lights and went a different way home so I didn't have to pull up alongside it again :o

Back to diesel again for me next time, even though I love the sound of 6 cyl petrol engines I miss the sheer grunt

An old Rover 218 TurboDiesel showed me her heels a few weeks ago

Really threw me - driven by an elderly woman too.

I was WELL impressed !

Did exactly this today to another 325 Cab.
I didn't really intend to race but the noise of his motor thrashing along really brassed me off, as I had the window down and he was level on a dual carriageway.

Anyway a quick squeeze, no drama or kickdown, just silence..Ahh!!

My next car (no rush, but I have started making enquiries, keeping track of prices etc etc) is going to be a E46 BMW 3 Series, probably a 4 door saloon.

Budget contrainsts have made me start looking at the 194BHP 325i Sport, instead of my prime choice a 330i Sport..........

Well I can't be having any of this being chased by oil burers, so the 330i it is!!

cheers guys!! LOL

None of that talk in here please - keep it in the off topic section ;) ;)

For your info, bmclub.co.uk is unregistered , if you really fancy a turnaround !!

Wow - what's with the practicality all of a sudden? Might as well get an estate if you want 4 doors :D

Are you sure there's nothing you want to tell us ? :p

Well, the coupes cost more and I have got used to 4 doors now. But don't, I've seen a black 330i Touring, Sat Nav, TV, Tyre Pressure Monitors, the lot.

An estate I must resist though, especially at £18K, 3K over my budget.

Buy either the 320 d or the 330 d and have some real grunt. The Police in Cleveland claim their 530d are quicker than their 530 i in real world motoring.

You're going to have to admit to the D word one day so do it now.

We have been looking for a replacement for the Mondeo, happened to come across a garage with a couple of 320d and 330d Touring's, Y-plates at very sensible prices. I couldn't resist taking one of the 330d's for a test drive, the performance was very impressive and the handling was certainly way ahead of the Merc but the inside was bland and very, very basic. I sounded the salesman out and got the impression I could have swapped mine for very little or no money.

We ended up buying another German car, picking it up tomorrow.

Graham, if you bought a 330d instead of a 330i it would be you leading..... ;)

I cant do it, sorry. The lovely petrol 330i it will be.

I did start to imagine what a 330i with a Supercharger would be like, but that is dreamland, the 330i WILL be mine!

Leave him alone - there's nothing wrong with checking to see if the grass is greener once in a while!! :p

Graham - if you can, get one with the Satnav + TV - it's a sod to retrofit later (not at all like Comand - you're easily looking at several thousand, and not an easy job!!). Bearing in mind that the E46 is replaced sometime next year, expect E46 prices to drop sometime soon.....

If you're worried about this diesel mob, then just wait a bit longer and pick up a M3 (probably won't be too long until they are down to £15k at this rate  )

I should be happy that there's another whose going for the E46 ;) [ducks, prepares for flames]

Go for it Graham, they are fabulous to drive :D

Here's some piccys of the new one New 3 Series

Ed's right, go for one that's got the toys in, they're a nightmare to mod anything other than wheels!

I must admit I've checked for greener pasture :o A nice R reg bmw M3 EVO bloody hell it was quick but didn't like how close the clutch pedal was to the foot rest on the side, kept getting in the way when changing gear,(must be my big feet) :o Then later that day donned a suit and walked into a car showroom that had got a 3 month old M3 and had a blast in that   , but at £40000 way way more than humble old me can afford,Still nice to dream tho
