Hi Guys,
just wanted to let everyone know I am getting booked up for Dec, but have a couple of cancelations due to commitments, not from club members so if anyone is wanting work done before christmas please let me know.

Thankyou

cklclive

PS. dont forget we have a GTG on 4th Dec at the 8 Ball Cafe :bannana:

Hi Cklclive, do you have any experience working on rust issues for r107s?

Dont want to tread on Clive's toes but if I can help in any way I do a lot of 107's

Thanks for the note Multi-Tech. Do both of you gentlemen specialise in body work only or do you specialise in other repairs/maintenance work too? (I also need to get some mechanical, suspension, exhaust and interior refurb work done, but would only want to get it done from someone who is familiar with the 107).

We also offer mechanical/maintenance works too.

We also offer the full package. I share my workshop with my brother David of d:class who is very well known for his interior work. We currently have 5 107's in for for work

Many thanks to both of you for the helpful replies. To avoid detracting the thread I will reach out individually to discuss what can be done with my car.

Btw CKLclive where in Essex is your work shop?

Don't want to tread on Clive toe's and was only offering some help.

I tried to put a post on a year ago to offer owners help and got it deleted as it was free advertising!!!

free adverting you have to ask permission for that and also offer discounts to club members, so I would ask first and put a proposal to the head honcho Koolvin first
as its up to him as he owns this forum.

Ok Guys, next week I will do an indepth write up on how MB's corrosion started
and why also how to cure the on going problems many of us have suffered and will include fotos of procedures, this has taken me many months of testing, research, investigating, blood sweat and nearly got me commited lol !.
But this method is the only way and process that MB cant do and thats a proven fact that they cant get it right. simples

some pics to be getting on with

The pics here show how and why the corrosion starts it is the primer applied under the inner arches which is not anti corrosive and comes away from the galvinising plus the sealer the apply which moisture gets under
this must be removed when carrying out any wheelarch rust repairs

First step is to remove all trim ie under wheel slash guards, femove flaky paint/rust with a 3m weetabix disc on a high speed drill to expose the wheelarch and remove painted surface to expose clean metal, hotair gun under the arch to remove the sealer around the inner lip back to clean metal afterward clean this with a wire brush
attachment to remove any loose rust/paint final clean with 3m disc and wire brush or sandblast if deep pitting is hard to remove, apply first stage acid wipe

Repeat several times to make sure all the rusted areas are treated and clean use a fine wire brush to work it in and then wash off with clean fresh water using a scotchbrite pad or cloth , dry the surface and panel wipe then apply phosphate coating to prevent flash rusting and coat the surface ready to accept the next stage, apply 2 coats of marine epoxy anti corrosive primer 15 to dry hard enough to key sand. prep surface and apply 3 coats of normal 2K primer dry sand key then its ready for colour coat after the panel has be sprayed to colour its ready for final stage coatings under the lip, I use a very high grade epoxy mastic primer that use can emirse a panel in salt water ie the sea ! for a very long time with out any corrosion or penertrating of water so its sealed totaly , finaly finsh off with sealing the under arch with Bilt Hamber UB wax
