Bonnet Badge Mounting

Hello all,

Some hateful little scab has seen fit to rip my three pointed star bonnet badge off my E Class.

I have purchased a new one from Southampton Merc but the completely ill informed bloke in the parts department didn't have a clue about fitting (usual level of service from a MB dealer).

I've got it home and had a look, but it looks a bit complicated - can any of you provide instruction at all?

Look on the inside of the bonnet underneath the star mounting where you will see what looks like a two sided sheet metal nut, turn it through 90 degrees with a pair of pliers and the star will lift out of the top. You should be able to recognize the parts on the new star as it does not come apart.

Thanks a lot, that did the trick - easier getting the broken one out than the new one in strangely enough, but got there in the end.
