Some tw@ has stolen my bonnet star - they've not snapped it off, there is a nice little socket with nothing in it - how has it happened? - the ball on the star must be bigger than the hole at the top of the socket or it wouldn't swivel and stay in place?

Is the dealer the best place for a replacement? How much?

Sorry to read it's been stolen. Discovered this morning that some scrote has run a key down the side of my GF's Focus, powdery bits of paint were still blowing off the side so it must have been minutes before we left the house! Death would be too good for them.

It's about £20-25 for a bonnet ornament now, used to be about £12 and was for years but jumped a couple of years ago.

You could also try a W204 flat-ornament (designed for upright-ornament recess) which is at most half the price.

I had a flat ornament on mine until a couple of months ago when for the 2nd time it was used as a wedding car and I needed something to wrap the ribbons around!

I do like the 'target' but can live without it especially if its going to cost £25 - it's completely out so no sharp edges and apart from the socket hole doesn't look too bad[unless you're used to the gunsight from inside] - the old girl is getting tired and rusty anyway.

thanks Neil - how would I pay for a W202 one?

PM'ed.
