But what in the current range is worth the time?

The S-Class is on the list, although I’d be quite tempted to try an EQS. Mercedes often keep my cars for much longer than expected with zero notice so I’ll hand them the keys back in October 😀

There are a few Renault Mercedes or Nissan Mercedes models.. LOL

Or some battery cars that take 46 hours to charge....
Which reminded me about the Nissan Navara / MB X Class, which I first saw in Sindelfingen in 2017, and haven't seen anywhere since....

Have requested an S, have a trip planned that will add a four figure mileage to the car :)

Got contact from my local dealer yesterday - allegedly (nobody tried to contact me, no missed calls or anything.) Reckon the dealers are lukewarm about this? LOL

Good afternoon.,

I have tried to call you regarding your test drive enquiry,

Could you please call back if you would like more help you with your enquiry.

Thank you

That is the full email. No contact details, no reference. Imagine trying to call them and get past the receptionist? LOL

If it's anything like our local MB/BMW showrooms, it's easier to get into my bank account on the mobile app than it is getting to the person you need to speak to. Even if you do know their name..

I can understand dealers not being too keen. The number time wasters who have no intention of buying but still take up the offer of a test drive must be high. Perhaps the approach they’ve taken filters out the lazy time wasters, and only committed time wasters and genuine potential buyers persist! 😀

Filled out the form, got an initial e mail, got a follow up phone call basically saying to expect a phone call from a salesman, got the second call from a very bored bloke telling me that there's big demand, nothing available and to try again end of October. Still, at least they've now got my details to constantly spam me with Mercedes "offers"!

Similar story. Got a screening call from possibly a manager, then a second call from a Saleswoman. Told them I was looking to buy something instead of @markjay 's IONIQ5 and was interested in the EQE. Was told nothing was immediately available but that she would call back.

Then got 3 or 4 emails recording the inquiry.

So, good marketing campaign / spend from the marketing department, and interesting UCX stats on the contact process, but nothing that they can actually deliver.

As a comparo, I went online at Hyundai and was immediately offered an IONIQ5 on loan next week. (Didn't actually take it up, but shows the world of difference)

Oh, and BTW, could have knocked me over with a feather after seeing the ENORMOUS discounts on nearly new MB EV's. Shocking. Shocking.
