Hi there. I’ve got a real dilemma here!
I have a 2001 S320 CDI W220.
Yesterday the central locking failed. I checked both keys and they were fine. The boot release and rear headrest release switches in the car
did not work so I assumed it’s the central locking pump in the boot?
The 20A fuse in the seat well at the rear had blown but replacing it didn’t get the system working.
So I tried manual access to the boot using the hard key extracted from the key fob and no matter how much I twist and push the boot will not open!
I understand there was some issue with the spring release on the trunk on the early W220? In any event I’m stuck, any ideas very much appreciated!!!
Regards

Squirt lube in the lock and keep working the key around until it releases.

They usually do , it may take LONG while of wiggling and squirting ....

Howard, tried yet again with silicon spray this time. The key turns anticlockwise against the spring action and the whole mechanism pushes inwards without a problem; something internal?
