I have a 62 W212 E63 with a collapsible spare wheel in the boot. Alongside it is a mass of electrical connections from the battery and control unit. Is there supposed to be a cover for this, or is it supposed to be exposed? I can't help thinking that it would be easy to drop a spanner or other metal device in there and create some form of short circuit when foraging around trying to change a wheel...........
