Hi All

I am sure this is a simple one but i cannot get the cover off the boot light(no manuals) and I don't want to 'force' it 'cause that will just end in tears:o . Could somebody tell me what the technique is please?

cheers

p.s. which workshop manual wouls people recommend i get?

just need a small screwdriver under one side and prise it out carefully as there is a small tab either side. (longitudinally)

Thanks Sp!ke - knew it would be simple but was wary of spannering it with a ham-fisted approach (and no- I still have not changed the seat belt presenter yet!)

A sp!ke is very useful for this job

Are you sure the light actually needs replacing ?

Its common on the w124 coupes for the wires (to the light) that run inside the boot hinge to become brittle and break inside the hinge over time , this will lead to the light not working ....

I agree with Howard as mine did the same and took me ages to work it out. Me and electrics? not the best of friends.

hhmmmm...guess the easiest is to change the bulb. When that does not work I can decide whether it is worth trying to find the offending wire (that will be NO then!).

cheers guys; here's hoping it's the bulb.
