Boot lock on a W202?

If I replace my old, broken, ceased boot lock for another, second hand one. Will it still work on the key fob and internal switch system even though it will fundamentally be a different key?

Been quoted £159 + VAT for one that's compatible to my door locks based on the chassis number but think that is a bit steep on an old £2K car!!!!

Hi,
As long as you get the lock from a similar aged c class as i believe the early ones were electrically operated lock and the later ones were air operated.
Was that price from MB? I got a quote this time last year IIRC of £70-80.

That was the price quoted from the MB dealership at Gatwick.

Would love the number of the place that quoted you £70-80 if you still have it.

Looking on ebay, but only found one which was for all the locks and that was £160 + Del, so no real financial advantage.
