Boot Lock????

Hi Guys,

I have come across a strange problem with the opening of my boot on a 2001 SL320.
I opened the boot a few days ago with the remote and it worked fine, i think
i may have used the key at one point on that day as well.

Now the boot seems to hissss like air leaking and the boot does not want to open with the key nor from inside the car?

if i mess about with the lock it seems to operate from the key fob, but then when i lock the car its the same again...... wont open with the fob or inside and has to be done manually...

Any ideas i tried the thing in the owners manual but that not working unless im doing it wrong?

Pull the trim of and have a look possibly a vac pipe adrift or broken.

yep the vac pipe has either come off or has punctured.

Guys i checked the boot and stiped out the covers there was no leaks and pipes were on, the hissing is coming from the actual mechanism on the boot lock.

The lock seems to half open then after a few seconds the air stops hissing out the black lock and it stays shut?

I messed about with it and it opens fine with the key and if i unlock it with the actual metal key then use the fob it works?
any ideas???
