I've got a W166 ML (2012).
The boot used to fully open and close (and lock and unlock) when using the botton on the boot door or when using the button on the keyfob. (I never use the button on the drivers door for some reason!?)
Once, someone was at the boot and pressed the button on the boot door to open it and at the same time, I pressed the button on the keyfob. It didn't open properly. After this point, the boot now no longer opens or closes from the keyfob or the button on the boot door. It does unlock and lock itself when we press the button on the door. But the door has to be pushed and pulled to open and close it - i.e. It will lock/unlock but not raise or lower itself.
I can't work out what the button sequence was when this happened or what the sequence could be to reverse this. Has anyone else experienced this before? Is this common? Please help....
