boot opening

grreetings
just jet washed car now boot dose not open unless with key number plate lights out 3rd brake light out , is there a fuse or should i just let dry out on own

I dont know what year car or etc you have but I know my 2008 ML had a SAM problem after rain as water had ingressed through the rear right (OS) light seal and shorted part of the module out so lost a high level brake light and other things.

maybe different seals on the E class, maybe not - but if the rear SAM is located in the rear of a lamp unit and low down, could be same issue?

maybe not, but doubt a fuse would control brake lights and number plate lights!

it will be a break in the loom somewhere where the hinge is, common problem, you should be able to locate it easy enough and repair the broken wire.
