Boring I know but... wiper blades !

Hi Guys and Gals,

Wiper blades squeeking is louder than my stereo now so they have beaten me into submission and I need a new set.

Problem is I've heard a rumour from a parts shop that for a W203 coupe (or is that C203?) facelift I need a non standard set. I wanted decent set but nothing too expensive, Bosch or something. Is it true about special set?

Recommendations?,ideas?

When you say special set i assume you mean that they are aero blades, if so A2038201945 Boxed pair @ £28.92 -20% £23.14 +vat

Are these bosch blades? Where can I order? What I meant by 'special'.. some guy told me the windscreen shape is unusual... is he talking tripe?

Not sure, but does special set mean the driver and passenger side wipers are different sizes?

I also wish to replace my blades, but was wondering about the new style blades with no metal frame to them (eg Bosch aerotwin flat blade), but would like some advice on which are good ones to go for, if anyone can recommend any.

Hello

I have changed both the wifes and my car to the aero blades, on my wifes they are far better. More contact on the blades apparently so a better clean..

On mine they are better now, but the first two week they squeaked like mad even if throwing it down. So far they now seem ok.

Amazing how much you notice a new set of wiper makes, and for £20 or so quid well worth it now the nights are grim.

Indeed it is, I change mine as soon as the weather turns at the end of summer, just done mine.

I had 169 aero wipers on my 168, that's an upgrade worth doing (you need the arms and the blades) if you've got an A class.

Hi I just bought a set of wiper blades for my w209 the ones without the metal frames, got them out of Euro car parts for £30 don’t know the make but not had any problems with them.

I think the parts guy means is the passenger side blade is curved if you look from the front the drivers side is straight and the pass one is bent!

To be honest I dont know. As a MB dealer we dont have info on fitting newer model parts onto previous model cars. But i do know you will need arms as well as blades because the blade fitment is different.
Let me get them out and make sure theres no huge difference in length or something to make it obvious it wont work.

Ive been all round our site and theres not one pre facelift C-Coupe to check the new arms against. The blades are fine in length though. I'll have to wait untill there is a Coupe here or until we get the pre facelift arms in.
I'll keep you posted.
