Hi y'all

The Bose amp on my W215 CL500 appears to have failed
It blew the fuse in the rear fuse box, though it's own internal fuse was fine.
There is a dead short from the power line in terminal to the earth terminal.

I'm assuming it's the 12v in step down to the pcb board supply, so wondering if anyone knows of a competent trusted repairer, as it shouldn't cost too much to fix .....

(Touches wood, strokes rabbits foot, fingers X'ed :D)

Thanks in advance for any replies/leads.

Googled it :)

A couple of the people I contacted got back to me inc Cartronix who said they should be able to do it. However another member on a forum kindly offered to have a look at it as its his area of expertise.

Fwiw the same amp is used on the W220, (Bose 4162) and on the CLK (W209?), there is a tiny difference on the plug between the models, as you will see a 'divider' lug on the receptacle and matching slot on your plug.

Just remove the lug with either a Dremel ..or a really hot knife :) and use of a thin strip of sandpaper after.
Works perfectly.

Yup, I think the difference is all the equalisation settings internally for the different shaped cars.
The newer HK amps they started to use one amp across multiple cars and the equalisation parameters are loaded into them when you install them (or perhaps by the head unit over MOST bus)
