Even brim to brim is not always conclusive of how much of any difference is attributable to a remap.

When I remapped my wife's B180 CVT it showed an increase from 39 to 43 brim to brim (within 2 mpg of computer). However the map was done in Spring as the weather was warming and the milage topping 5K. The extra economy could easily have been due to these other issues.

However I am totally convinced that real world economy gains are possible from remaps and this is based upon several remaps I have had done, my research, and my 35 year experience of combustion technology and logic controllers. I'm not however an expert in vehicle remap technology thus would love a real motorsport type mapping expert to offer some real advice on this thread.

Steve has only had the car a few weeks so I doubt changing seasons has had much affect and surely comparing the OBD and brim to brim calculations would clearly show the accuracy, or otherwise of the OBD.
If he had performed brim to brim from day one (which as a high mileage driver he probably has), then we would have a set of figures to work from.

He only needs to reference his fuel receipts or fuel card statement to obtain the information.

Is the op for real ? He buys a c250 diesel for £16k Was he expecting it to performe like a £100k supercar . In one post he says in his opion what kills the car is the awful lag ( did he not test drive the car before buying it ) Then in another post he moans about the fuel economy .

What used to make this forum interesting was the signal to noise ratio being high which is no longer the case, nobody even references any facts or useful information at all any more, they all just want to say how much better they are than others because they can afford a new Mercedes.

I know, got it...I should've just been ecstatic that Steve's car could now go better and give much better economy...

Having received many complaints of trolling especially in C63 threads, I think we need to draw a line in the sand now as the behaviour is getting particularly tiresome (you know who you are).

In addition to being tiresome, it is often a most unwelcoming start for new members.

Starting from now, deliberately baiting or trolling in any thread (and we all know the difference between healthy debate and trolling) will likely earn an infraction, maybe even two depending on severity.

Accumulate three infractions and it means you win a special prize of a week in the cooler away from the forum.
