That is not the correct filter for your car I think its for a 6 cylinder engine. THE FILTER YOU WANT IS THE C34-104 made by MANN and HUMMEL
or the MB no is A1040940104 ---- AVAILABLE FROM INCHCAPE mercedes for £22-57
Genuine MAHLE are top quality products-- They own Knecht filters which are top quality also. If you look at their official website Mahle don't list an air filter for the C43 ! . I can confirm that the KL82 is the correct Mahle /Knecht fuel filter for your car. I think the ebay advert is a misprint /mistake my guess they mean C36 not C43 http://217.6.60.45/mahle/_action/Co...&folder=fahrzeug&actionMethode=fahrzeugDetail
Try this link MAHLE Aftermarket-Filter 2011
According to MAHLE site they don't make a filter for your C43. If the link above doesn't work Google search for the MALHE website look for the Aftermarket filter section Online catalogue for Europe and do a search yourself.
So yes as far as I can make out LX536 is the wrong filter for a C43
All I can tell you is Mercedes list Mann -Hummel as the filter element manufacturer on their parts site. Most of the filters listed on that website you mentioned have the same dimensions give or take a few mm This might be explained by the fact they measure the dimensions slightly differently e.g. the dimensions of the pleated filter element or alternatively the outer rim of the filter seal. Slight differences in depth would make little difference to an element primarily located by its flexible seal at one end . The primary differences between the straight six engines and the V8s is that MB can often squeeze the inlet Filter Box between the wing and engine block on the 6's but tend to mount the V8 filter boxes centrally above the engine since the wider V8s leave little space between inner wing and engine. In addition probably makes the plumbing to the central situated inlet manifold easier as well. The downside is a restriction in size/depth to fit under the bonnet or to use 2 elements instead of one in a more elaborate double inlet system .
My advice is to buy the proper MB filter from the dealer using your chassis number- that way you will get the correct one size and quality wise. If you must go after market to save a few quid use the manufacturer that are OEM for that filter MANN-HUMMEL Ebay sellers don't always get things right in their adverts so I would not rely on their advice.
