Brabus 6.1 W211

That is one nice car. It's been on Autotrader and for sale with the same company for a couple of months now. I guess he's put it on ebay to get more interest.

A couple of you mentioned the spec....the only thing is doesn't appear to have is COMAND. All the other dash and centre console buttons appear to be filled in. But I do think that if someone is spending £100k+, they could have stretched to an extra £1,500 or so, for COMAND

And did someone else order a black one? Try here: www.thehairpincompany.co.uk

Hi Darren,
Are you convinced it has the seats I mentioned which are a very nice option especially on the higher performing models? The wording of the advert leads me to suspect they are not fitted but we would ned completely different and more detailed pictures to find out.

Hi John
The seats do appear standard W211, with heating and ventilation. I was under the impression there was just one standard Mercedes seat for the E-Class, heating, electric adjustment and ventilation all options. And there is, of course, the more supportive AMG seats. If this is not the case, apologies and I stand corrected :o LOL
:)

A standard E500 elegance on a 54 plate comes in at about £20k.

They are asking for double the price for the Brabus 6.1 ??, dont get me wrong is looks a fab car but deep down is it really worth the extra 20k ?? i really am not so sure.40k gets you a mint 54/55 plate E55, or for an extra 5k gets you an early plated E63.

Wouldnt mind giving it a blast thought to see how it compares to the E55, if that brabus gets to 60 in the 4.3 stated ill eat my hat, twice.:D

Hi Darren
In a way your right BUT... this car lacks the 'dynamic, multi-contour seats' which at the time of that car's production were just under £900. I have only mentioned this because of the seller's claim about the car being of the highest spec. it is clearly not, but it does have one heck of an engine. All its other options are very nice but it is lacking quite a few of the 'top dollar' refinements.

Whats the BHP / Torque of the Brabus 6.1 compared to say an E55

I thought the E55 Estate in some magazines has recorded a 4.7 0-60 time so in ideal circumstances 4.3 seconds for the Brabus may not be far off the mark?

Either way they its a very quick way to move 5 adults :)

Is it just me?........ Don't you think that the wood/walnut in the W211 elegance is so dated now.
My W124 has walnut and I think that it is in keeping with a a 14 year old car, but I much prefer the black piano wood in the Avantgarde model
W211. That, (apart from the price) would put me off buying this car.

Very much down to personal choice but I do agree with you :)
We had the 210 Elegance and quite liked its finish, my wife was not impressed with the newer 211 Avantgarde interior with the white dials, but after having it for a few months her opinion changed. The white dials is in my opinion a much better choice:)

Why would Brabus use the E500 Elegance as the base vehicle esecially as........ Hmmmmmmm I think I've answered my own question but not too sure?? The Elegance does not have the optional skirts that come as standard on the Avantgarde! If Brabus were to use the Avantgarde then they would have to remove these skirts and then fit there own. Could that be the reason, although they would then have to pay for the optional bi-xenons. Swings and roundabouts.

I would never use my own vehicle as a track car and this beast has power that will never be used on a public highway. Everything in the AMG appeals to my tastes and very little of this Brabus rings any of my bells.:o :o Hence I suppose the problem in selling it for anything near a decent price.

I think it's fair to say that the majority of people would prefer the AMG alternative to the Brabus in this thread. Hence one of the reasons why the Brabus is such a rare sight.

Maybe if this particular Brabus offered something much more than it did over the AMG I would see the benefit of it, but other than a little more rarity and individuality (a very much personal thing), the AMG offers a better package overall, especially for the price :)

Combining some of the opinions expressed in this thread, wouldn't it be so much nicer if it were finished in Black, with Avantgarde trim, a bit more spec and of course COMAND?

It's probably great value for someone who's keen on the exact spec that this car has, but it's quite a niche vehicle and I think it might take some time to find that buyer.

IMHO its not worth more than it would cost for a similar age and spec E55.

yeah , it might have cost 100k , but its still an E500 with a bodykit and a modified engine.

Infact , wouldnt it be cheaper to get an E55 and put a K8 kit on it?

K8 E 55 K (-> 06/2006) 390 kW / 530 PS
775 Nm + 40 kW / 54 PS
+ 75 Nm 4,5 s
300 km/h

The brabus kit is for the W211 is far from the usual merc quality, am i correct Andy?;)

The one we went to view up north was a shed, and the quality of the front and rear valance was aweful, very flimsy indeed.
