Looking at the Brabus tuning for my '10' reg C350 CDi blue efficiency and was wondering if anyone has fitted this to their's and an opinion of what its like and whether its worth the expense ?

I notice that CKS do a remap with similar outputs quoted and apart from the warranty issue at £1K less approx is it worth it? In money terms obviously yes but is there a downside to it?

If you can get one at the price mentioned on here elsewhere I'd say go for it.

The increased mid range shove is great and it's worth it for that alone.

I don't see better economy but you'll point and squirt more, so that's expected.

I'd be looking for dealer fitment to maintain warranty and you'd need to tell your insurance, who will load your premium accordingly (Aviva took my premium up by about 10%).

Also, make sure you get the installation certificate from the dealer or, in the event of a failure, the warranty won't be valid.

Hello

I have the D6 on the older E320Cdi, makes a big difference overtaking.

I think 'Acid' a member on here can get them cheaper someone else may know.

My insurance was actually cheaper with the D6 and larger wheels declared as I changed from a standard insurance company to a specialist Adrian Flux.

Ahh understand now, thanks.

Contacted the Mercedes guys he mentioned but they don't have the box for mine, they can get it £2014 +VAT + fitting !! Think I'll hang on !

I've had the D6 on my E350CDI and it makes a massive difference to the car in my opinion, having driven ones without then going back to mine it's easy to tell the difference. Much easier to drive, far better mid range has much more shove, economy it varies on how you drive it to be fair. Mine will get mid 30 mpg taking it steady on town driving, early 40s on a long run but if you drive it hard then expect no more than 20mpg.

Looked at all the different routes but went for Brabus because I retained the warranty which is fairly important to me.

There are a few places to consider, Kleemann, Vath, DTUK but think these are all like the Brabus unit being "boxes" that are fitted in the car to the various sensors etc not so sure about the CKS one because it states that it is an undetectable remap which on a new car under warranty I certainly wouldn't recommend but it is entirely up to you.

Bl**dy hell - that's ridiculous.

Contact this man [email protected] and ask him if he can turn a D5 into a D6 - you never know.

It's the same engine in a 280CDI as a 320CDI.

Acid is BRABUSK8 on here - he's very very helpful.

£2k is about the price Mercedes charge unless they're willing to give you some discount or wave the fitting charge

Thanks for the input guys, pleased to hear that the 'shove' is good its what I want. Warranty is also important to me especially considering the cost of parts / labour these days, thank goodness I had it when the Porsche needd a new gearbox!

Off to do some research & a bit of a haggle somewhere I guess.

Dr Nab that E class looks awsum btw !
