I've been reading several positive posts about Brabus D6 kit for the E350CDI. I checked the Brabus site and found an equivalent kit for the E250, D4.

http://www.brabus.com/en/deliver.php?id=6219&filename=W207 D4.EN.pdf

I can't find a price for these kits online, what would be a reasonable price to expect a new one, second hand one?
For a new one It looks like MB Milton Keynes is the only reseller in the UK on the Brabus site, would I have contact them to buy one or there other ways to purchase one?

Would I be correct in assuming that the Brabus kit is a better solution to say, the the module from Diesel Tuning UK LTD | Improved Diesel Performance And Economy | Digital Diesel Tuning Box

I've been searching on the forum about self installation and can't find any step-by-step guide. How easy would it be to install, Brabus refer to it as a "plug & play system", is this the case?
Having looked at pictures of the Brabus kit, I'm assuming that when installing that the connectors to the Delphi ECU are unplugged and the Brabus are plugged in-line with the connectors and then back in the the Delphi unit?

I've been looking for a installation manual for the kit on the web with no success.

Would I be better off getting a professional remap?

I suspect the reference you found in Milton Keynes is MBUK head office, rather than te dealership. Unless something has changed recently your local dealer should e able to supply and fit the D4 kit. Phone a few for the best price - remember to ask for a discount too!

You might want to try Brabus direct in Germany often cheaper because of Euro pricing. Also the difference between the Brabus box and the DTUK box is with the Brabus box you will retain the MB warranty and it says Brabus on the box.The DTUK boxes are equally as good as the Brabus boxes and you will see exactly the same result if you fit a high end DTUK box we used to fit loads of these for our customers and indeed we have fitted them to many members cars on this forum and never had an issue or comeback.

All depends if you need the warranty or a name or if you just need a functional unit that does what it says on the tin

You will likely get a better resale value on the Brabus box should you wish to sell it later, always something worth considering.

Not sure if this helps but I looked up pricing for a c220 BRABUS box and they ranged from £800 - £1800 I think...

Good point to bear in mind by savman, if you sell the car it's probably better to remove it and sell separately, as chipped cars really puts off buyers (there has been a c220 BRABUS on autotrader for weeks unsold...)

Hi, thanks for all your feedback. Bit the bullet and went for a CRD-T from DTUK, some great comments about them on this forum. Andrew was very good to deal with.

It arrived this morning, so fitted it this evening.

Took it for a spin and defiantly more poke in it. Have adjusted the internal jumpers to +10% and will see how it goes tomorrow.

If anyone wants more detail on how it performs with an E250, let me know and I'll put up more detail in the next while.

Tristand,

I have heard good things about the DT-UK kit and I've dealt with Andrew on a few occasions (really nice Guy).

It does its job quite well but wont match a full Remap for performance or economy. It does have the benefit of being removable when it comes to dealers etc.

Cheers Matt

Any further update on the tuning box, power & economy etc.
I have had these fitted to vectras and insignias with good results.

I am also looking at such but also considering Racechip & Brabus D4.

As much as all these adverts quote +50hp etc, is this really achievable as with the insignia it did not seem to be a great deal quicker than standard, albeit noticeable in mid range hugely.

Thanks,

Andy
