Brabus W124TE and 450SEL

That Brabus Estate looks like one which appeared on Autotrader a year or so ago.
That particular example had been bought as a LHD vehicle and converted to RHD by Brabus. If it is that car, it might be worth mentioning in the ad.

It's still a superb vehicle though and it looks in excellent condition. Shame it's missing it's front bumper and "slanted" Brabus exhaust. Plus, I'm not too keen on the pre-1990 facelift look - but that's just personal taste!

I like them both rather alot. Not certain about the black grill and bonnet star on the estate but would need to see in person. I have aquestion about the dashboard on the estate as well...left of the headlamp adjuster there is some dial/control?? Can anyone tell me what that is please as its not standard 124 fare.

p.s. what was the original power output of that 3.6 lump and what did Brabus change if anyone knows?

The rotary control is a Tempramat. Note...not Tempomat which is the cruise.

The 6.9 needs the Mexican HAT Alloys on. Was involved in the early 80's having them Armoured, a fun car to drive standard or Armoured.

I've just looked at that 6.9, too! What a gorgeous machine!

Left of the hemplamper adjuster....do you mean the little black circular thing, or the control with the white script around it?
I'm not sure, what either are, but it might help for those who may know :)
Having said that, if you're referring to the control with white script surrounding it, it appears the first word is "AUTOMATIC......."

Also, regarding power, I believe this BRABUS unit pushed out 245bhp, IIRC. That was the hike for Mercedes' 3 litre 12 valve unit, which this appears to be.
I would assume Brabus would acheive this by good old fashioned engine tuning - rebore, cams, pistons, exhaust, air filters, etc.
I'm sure someone on here will be able to confirm/correct/add to what I've said :)

which means it does what? please excuse my ignorance (I even tried Googling it and it just brought up this thread!

The tempomatic is the outside temperature display and oil temp display as I have in the 500E.

I would snap that estate up if I had a spare garage... looks the business.
