Hi guys,
traded my 55 plate 200SLK in for a 200 SLK on a 14 plate mid January. It only had 1700 ish miles on the clock at the time of purchase. Anyway, bought the car, got it home and didn't use it for about seven weeks cos we were decorating. Came to work in it this morning and minutes after setting off, accelerating away from a set of traffic lights, the brake fluid warning light came on, big red display on the dash. I knew the fluid level was OK as I checked it yesterday, plenty in the reservoir if a little too much. Brke performance is fine too. Could the warning light coming on be due to the cars recent lack of use? Any ideas?

Regards

Well I think you have answered your question yourself, almost certain the sensor on the brake fluid has thrown up a non event, brakes ok and you checked the fluid level, you may well find when you leave work today that it will be gone.
