Brake fluid sensor CLK

Hi,

I have the Brake Fluid warning message plus red brake light illuminating on my 99 CLK 230. The brake fluid was changed last week and there are no signs of any leaks. I'm assuming therefore it's a faulty sensor. It appears to be coming on and off intermittently.

Question is then how is the fluid level measured? Is it a float or capacitance system or perhaps something else?

Yes. It's at max level.
