Afternoon all and apologies if this has been raised before but i could not find it whilst searching...

I left my C Class on the drive for 2 weeks. Went in and applied Drive (automatic) and both brakes poppped and need to be replaced.
Second time in 8 months.
Has this happened to anyone else and how can i prevent a re-occurrence?? Any help greatfully recieved.

If you mean that when you went to move the car there was a popping type sound as the pads released themselves from the disks then this isn't unexpected if left for that long.

The pads will have been held against the disks and these will have formed surface rust which would have held the pads. When you released the brakes, the caliper pressure will have released, but the pads will have still been held in place by that surface rust. As you moved off you would have broken that connection which would have made a sound like that.

Just driving normally would then have allowed for the surface rust and the brake pads to clean themselves up. May have been a little noisy for a few miles but would not need to be replaced.

Unless of course you mean something much more drastic than that by popped.

Are we sure the car in question has a disc parking brake?
Early on, smarts would stick their front pads and delaminate on freeing until the pad material was changed and the problem went. Drums on the rear and mine are a PITA for seizing at the merest hint of moisture. So bad that I have to carefully park it and leave it in gear with the handbrake off. It threatens the clutch trying to free them when they are stuck. 21st century and still this shite.

Dodgy pads ?

Are you washing the car before or during the lay up period? It's common for brake issues like this to occur if the pads and discs are soaked and then left for a length of time.
