Not taking the 'pee', but surely the answer would have an awful lot more to do with how the car has been driven (hard/town usage vs. gentle/motorway etc) rather than how good/bad someone's guess is

I know - actually if want to know all that info it's all contained in the pages of this forum (a certain moustached gentlemen would have probably worked it out by now).
Mine have done 40K now and 8-9mm is probably only 40% worn tops (probably less - I doubt the new pads were more than 12mm) - I will probably end up at about 85K before they need doing at this rate.
Mileage is 50% motorway at an average of 31mpg - I'm not slow, but do tend to conserve momentum through corners and roundabouts (and I like to think I look well ahead) so I'm probably not that hard on the brakes. On previous cars I have always got 25K-30K out of the front pads (although with less motorway work). The difference on these is impressive.
