...my B class flagged up "check brake pad wear" recently..
Given I cant seem to get near to a MB garage for weeks now... to get my service done. If I took it to an independant to have new pads - are they going to give me a hard time when it comes to the service - its out of warranty - and I can see them just piling on pounds on top of my service care plan to replace them.

Curious?

Buy MB pads , get your local garage to fit them :)
try MB Newcastle eBay page

Portsmouth to Newcastle is a weee bit of a drive mate! although you did say Ebay!... but strange!...

They do post them to you, you don't have to collect in person!!

That, or get a reputable specialist to supply and fit them.

On a more general note, if you own a Mercedes Benz, you should really strike-up a relationship with a good specialist, for all these maintenance tasks and repairs that are not covered by the MB Service Care Plan.

As for 'giving a hard time'.... the dealer won't care who replaced your discs and pads, when, or where. As long as the brakes pass the inspection for wear and condition, no further mention of it will be made by the dealer. Rest assured, your 'secret' is safe with us ;)
