I was hoping for some help, I purchased some Brembo brakes and disc for my Mchanic to install them and they were shocking not responsive at all so I took them back and brought Mercedes discs and break pads they are much better but my gf has the same car and get brakes are so much sharper and mine are not that responsive the Mchanic is adamant that it doesn’t need bleeding can anyone help I want my brakes more responsive. I’ve got a c220d 2016 coupe w205 thank you.

Check that the brake servo is working correctly.
Google for the simple procedure

Thanks mate, how do I go about making this better I’ve searched it and it tells me what it is but doesn’t tell me how I can improve it I suppose I need to buy a whole new brake servo is this hard to fit ? Isit an exspensive thing to replace ? Thanks for the reply mate

How many miles have the new pads done, were they bedded in when first used? I'd be very surprised if the servo has gone on a 2016 car unless the car has been abused in some way but even then I'm doubtful. Normally, if the system needs bleeding then the pedal is inconsistent and/or feels spongey.

Brembo discs and pads are good quality (assuming that they're genuine) and shouldn't be noticeably different in performance to genuine MB pads. Is your mechanic a qualified mechanic, or a 'friend'. I've known somebody grease their pads to try and reduce brake squeal- it did actually reduce the squeal but had the unintended consequence of reducing the braking efficiency. If it's an MOT garage, you could put it on a brake test roller and see what transpires.

Brembo discs and pads are of good quality. Used them on my E55 without issues stopping.

If there is no "bite" there is air still in the system.
As above, the new pads need bedding in for at least 100 miles to get the best out of them. They aren't glazed over are they?

Thanks mate, my new pads and discs were fitted about an hour ago only gone to the local shop and back as I wear the breaks in will they become sharper ? How would i go about wearing the breaks in properly. The pads and discs were fitted by a reputable garage.

Brembo is OEM on more than a few Mercedes Benz (mine included) something else is wrong.

When the Brembo discs and pads were installed brand new from euro car parts £220 in total when I went on the Motorway the day after I was breaking at 70 and it was taking a ages too break wasn’t sharp at all when I changed to Mercedes discs and pads today I could notice a considerable improvement but there still not as sharp as my partners who has the exact same car.

I fitted Brembo discs to the front of my car (C55 AMG V8) purchased from Eurocarparts and they work just fine. Look elsewhere for your poor braking performance.

You didn't give the new pads time to bed in Dean. Be patient, don't stand on the brakes, , be gentle with them and you'll see an improvement within 50- 100 miles of use.

Was the fluid changed?

Was STAR used to bleed the ABS system,

Smashing mate ! I know I expected the breaks to be sharp straight away but now I know this is not the case don’t know much about cars but slowly learning appreciate this mate.

Your wheels in that photo there so nice! What size are they ? I’ve got 17” at the moment but looking at going 18” or 19” would love something that looks like yours.

All brake renewals are like that mate
( except for EBC's 'brake in' coating ) guess it's early motoring days for you.

If you have gone genuine , discs will be made by ? And pads will be Ferodo Eco Friction .

Why not look at something like these 18"black multispoke alloys for your W205 Coupe? You can use the same size tyres front and rear 235x40x18

18" BLACK 02 ALLOY WHEELS FITS MERCEDES C CLASS W204 W205 C204 C205 S204 5X112 | eBay

Or these
18" Rapide Alloy Wheels Fits Mercedes E Class S212 S213 A207 A238 C207 C238 | eBay

The ones in my avatar are 19" AMG alloys and rather expensive. The ones above are far cheaper and probably less likely to crack!

Just to confirm: you tested the servo action and it failed ?
The servo is vacuum driven. You will see a hose run to the servo, large black frisbee-like thing in the engine compartment beside the brake fluid reservoir. Check it is connected at both ends and has no leaks. The vacuum comes from an engine driven pump, it could be the servo or the pump if the hose is good. Any local garage can sort that for you.

How about we start at the beginning?

OP, why did you have the discs and pads changed in the first place? Was it because braking performance was poor, or because they were worn out?
