Brake pads sticking to disc

Garage floors usually have a gentle slope towards the garage door. In my garage I have a thin piece of wood on the floor positioned so that when the front wheel just rolls over it the car is in the correct position and the garage door will close. I also don't need to apply the parking brake. I realise that's no help for more recent cars with electric parking brakes.

It is a 2019 E400D, so has electric handbrake I’d assume.

My question is though, is there a way to leave it I in neutral with engine off and handbrake off ?
Yes, I've done it many times when leaving the car in the garage for a few weeks, even on level ground, I still use wheel chocks to be sure.
You need to pull the handbrake release lever while you shut down the engine and open the door, then get out, close the door and no handbrake!

Thanks, will try that.
