I've just received a letter from main dealer advising of a safety check required on my E270 W211 2003. Has anyone got any details on this recall?

Yes.
This is the brand new SBC re-call. The previous one was to remount the wiring loom so it did not rub a coolant pipe. So many of them were done incorrectly that they have re-called them all again!!!
When the re-call was done it also involved some re-programming of the SBC control unit.
Not too sure if the new one has any programming involved in it.
