Hi, I have just done the front pads on my W220 320CDI and was wondering if replacing the disc's with drilled and vented front and rear would be of benefit. It currently has the standard twin soilid disc's on the front and the single solid disc's on the back. The offside front disc is scored but still okay wondering if I would see much improvement if any if I changed them.

Thanks'
Bill.

I suspect your front discs are already ventilated.
Fitting cross-drilled discs will not improve braking, may increase brake noise and the amount of dust created.

And I'll be the first to say...check with your insuran e company if you are changing to a non-standard set up

Unless you are a Colin McRae wannabe, I doubt you will reap much benefit from a change of disc set up...apart form an emptier wallet...

If you do change the front discs, you should also change the (recently) new front pads...

If you can activate the ABS with your existing brakes, even putting F1 brakes on your car won't make it stop one centimetre shorter. The main reason (excluding fashion) for upgrading brakes is to cope with frequent hard braking from high speeds, they dissipate heat better and reduce the likelihood of fade. If you don't drive in a "pedals are either on or off" manner, they'll look nicer through the gaps in your spokes, cost more and that's about it.
