Hi Everybody. Today I Have Just Replaced The Front Brake Pads On My E/Class W211, today and everything is running Freely, But I Have Started Up After, And The Visit Workshop For Service Brake Warning Light Is Still Showing !
Do I Have To Get The Warning Light Deleted With A Diagnosis Machine ??
Many Thanks In Anticipation of A Response ! Eddie H.

Did you replace the brake wear sensor or forget to plug it in?
There should be just sensor one on the front.

There Were Two Sensors On The Old Pads, And The New Apec Pads. Came With Two, So Yes, It Have Plugged. Them In ! Thanks.

Are the rear pads okay, disc and parking brake ones..

I'm sure you've already tried but I'd remove the wear sensors and refit them just to be sure they're seated correctly.

I'm Pretty Sure that apart from trying to be FUNNY, that you are more concerned with my Keyboard. rather than giving a Legitimate Answer, to my enquiry !

Hi. Am I right in Thinking, that the two wear Sensors that came in the box of APEC Front Pads for my E/Class, are Correct, as they have two different profiles of plugs, or have they been sent in error ?
The two old ones were the same, with a small slot between the contact pins !?

I Haven’t Replaced The Handbrake Shoes, but am I correct in saying that there are No Sensors on Them?
I did intend to investigate the condition of them, but couldn’t get the two big retaining bolts undone !!

There are no sensors on the handbrake shoes and just one sensor (I think) on the rear pads.
You'll need to remove both the caliper and brake disc to inspect the handbrake shoe pads.

Worth checking the brake pads as its always possible they have been worn unevenly and the outer pad is showing plenty of friction pad remaining but the inner one worn down and broken the sensor wire, hence the message still showing. It's happened to me when a piston inside the caliper was sticking.
The caliper bolts are done up to a high torque. You may need a breaker bar on a socket to undo them.

Hi Mr. Geed,
I Have spent today stripping out the Rear pads And Have Chamfered off the edges of the Pads which seems to have cured the Binding, but haven't Road tested it yet, fingers crossed that the Binding is cured, and the Brake Warning Light has Disappeared !
Many Thanks For Your Input !

Eddie, if you’re still getting the brake warning light coming on, there’s the possibility that one of the new sensors you fitted is faulty. They’re fed by thin lengths of wire that could easily have been broken inside their plastic sheaths before you even fitted them. Could be worth checking them out with a multimeter.
