hi all, I'm changing my front disc and pads and want the best disc and pads possible, I've had a quote from a parts dealer to replace the worn disc with genuine Brembo parts or Zimmermann....all advice welcomed...

Think you answered your own question to be honest. They are your brakes so I'd say always go for the best it's better than going cheap and ending up in the back of someone all for the sake of a few quid.

I can highly recommend the TEXTAR E Pads (Low dust) from ECP
I replaced all 4 wheels (Pads and Discs) with the TEXTAR stuff and had zero problems in 30, 000 miles.
MB is obviously very good but I cannot abide the amount of dust they make.
Textar are considered OEM and are not cheap!!
In fact when I got the E pads they were more expensive than the Mercedes Pads.
Put it this way I will be replacing with Textar sooner rather than on my own car.

As has been said before DONT skimp on Brakes...
But there is nothing at all wrong with High Quality aftermarket parts.

Have a look at Textar below..
I had to guess the year of your car as 2004 so please double check part numbers etc..
