Brand New 4 Wheel Drive Dyno 2014 @ MSL Performance

Sounds great mate. All makes perfect sense with the scissor lift, I was just being bit thick:doh:

It will be a great space, you pretty much have the perfect general layout in your workshop and as the guys have said the position of your reception could nicely double as a lounge / viewing area:thumb:

The scissor lift will be used for ease of access for the vehicles on the dyno, in case something goes wrong or needs looking at in an emergency. I.E Intercooler Pumps:thumb:

The fans we are looking at will be circa 40,000 CFM, as well as 2 smaller 1hp (3000 CFM) carpet fans :bannana:

merry christmas acid and the gang, congrats on the dyno.

Just a thought about noise insulation, that thing inside your big place will be really noisy.
Either that or supply ear protection..

Steve

Merry Christmas to you too Thanks!

Yeah noise Insulation is not a problem, we are looking at ROCK WOOL, which is top end stuff, hopefully you wont even be able to hear an echo in the Dyno room!!

Looks a great start Acid, I note that Sav has joined your operation in helping with the dig with his dumper trucks:p

For my pennies worth, I always thought that SSR had a great set up, with an an ajoining seated lounge area, to talk in relative quiet away from the main noise, with multiple wall mounted screens there to view the cars on the dyno and the data being received, as well as tea and coffee, always found it quit relaxing down there.

This said, you probably got this all in hand anyway, best of luck with the project, hopefully see it in operation in the new year.:thumb:

Yeah have seen their setup as well as a few others, We will have plenty of screens and will have a viewing area for all to see their beasts being tuned:devil:

Tea and coffee is already available as well as Lunch! which I don't think many people offer Lol.

Outstanding Acid, yet again showing you are a man of your word, when you say you are going to do something, you do it.

As has been said, sound insulation, big fans and also external ventilation are key. As well as extracting exhaust fumes you should think about drawing air into the cell as well as extracting it, especially important in the hot summer months if the plan is to enclose the dyno area.

Other key consideration is how you get the cars in and out of the cell, but guess you've already covered this as the build has started.

That aside, you have some good options for the customers ref waiting / viewing areas. You have screens already in your reception which can / will show the dyno area, from a safety point of view this would be the number one option. If you want customers a bit closer to the action (especially on dyno days), then you could add a heavily laminated glass viewing window (you can even buy one's now that change from clear to frosted / logo - called smart windows, but expensive) so customers can congregate and view with maybe a large screen inside the dyno cell showing the outputs.

Wouldn't be a bad thing to call Charlie from SRR, as I think he is in the middle of relocating to new premises and may be able to offer up some experienced advice.

Looking forward to how the thread progresses and getting the car on the rollers...

Jules.

Get a few of your staff fully trained up as I imagine the Dyno will get heavily used. :thumb:

We are building offices right behind the Dyno for closer views, we Will have numerous screens, showing live footage form different angles, and live data and the reception area is still there for you comfort :thumb:

Extraction, Ventilation and fans are already on the list we may even Have A/C in there for the warmer days, load of ideas floating around ATM, we want it to be Ultimate and do it properly just the once.

This the view from the bottom office, ( this will also come with a little surprise for the customers that may get bored)

And the top office, this will be a full length window for a full view,

Amazing stuff, can you open a branch in Scotland please?

Meh! Scotland Isn't that far, It will be worth the trip, we can cater for your needs, arrange accommodation, even nights out

Acid this looks sensational mate. Many congratulations on moving this along so quickly. When I was up there only a month ago this was only in idea mode still !! Love the idea of a full length viewing gallery from the top floor - I think that is essential to enhancing the whole 'dyno' experience - punters always want to feel part of the dyno run, I know I certainly do.

It all looks brilliant. Merry Christmas to you and all at MSL :thumb:

All sounds superb, can't wait to pop down and see it all up in action.

Jules.

Acid this is some brilliant stuff; top class professionals. This would even tempt me to come over from Northern Ireland to get a few things done and then dynoed :)
