Hi all, I'm wanting to put some more powerfull headlight and mainbeam bulbs in in our other car as their not as good as the CLK which has Xenon's. Bulbs are H7 & HB3. Would also like to do the sidelight bulbs as well and also on the CLK which I did last year with with some 'white' bulbs , (think they were Osram) which didn't seem that bright white comepared with the headlights. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.:thumb: Cheers lockking

Try Philips X-treme Vision for the other car, Very good bulbs for the money.

that's good advice. You don't need higher watts - you need bulbs with a better design and higher quality so that the light gets put on the road in the right place. A set of those Phillips will make a big difference.

Yup I put Philips X-Treme in the SL and our old Audi and they made a significant improvement. Definitely the most 'bang for the buck'.

I have a '92 W124 saloon and used the Phillips bulbs. Not a huge change on dip but much better on main beam when you need them most.

Thanks all of you for your feedback but in a spur of madness? i brought some MTEC bulbs. Not fitted them yet but will let you know what their like. Was going get the Philips in the first place! Cheers anyway Lockking

MTECH are nice and white, but dont expect them to be bright in certain situations.

Just put the dipped bulbs and yes they do look very white compared to what was in. You saying that their not so good at lighting up the road at a distance.

They are fine in total darkness, its just around dusk which they appear to be very dull in certain lights. - somthing to do with the colour temp rather than the brightness so ive been told.
