some delightful little bas**rds decided to break into our 230TE last night......
We got home from a gig about midnight, went inside and sat down for 10 minutes to drank a beer, then deciding to take the dog out for a walk and empty my gear out of the car I went back outside only to find the rear window smashed, the load cover twisted back and half of the gear missing.
Fortunately it's all insured so that's something to be thankful for.
You got to admire stupid criminals though - when we checked the car over this morning in daylight.....blood all over the rear door handle, load guard and carpets - the local police were so pleased - guess that's one crime they'll be solving pretty easily.
Here's the silly part though with the swabs they take for the DNA they have to send it off to be analyzed, the results are then sent somewhere else to be checked against the national database and assuming a match is found they are then returned to sussex police for action - a process that takes 28 days!!!!!!
Ho hum we wasted a day getting it sorted out. big thanks go to autoglass for turning up 3 hours earlier than they said, the local police for their help etc, MB Eastbourne who were so helpful and quick doing the estimate over the phone and getting it faxed to Chaucer for the repairs and sending a mobile valeter to clean any remaining blood spots from the interior and Chaucer insurance who reckon the claim will be processed in 2 days. Not so many thanks to prodential home insurance who were less than helpful - but hey they are being faced with a £10,000 payout for my missing guitar
