Every now and then I go to the Friday of the British Grand Prix in order to enjoy the noise and the occasion. I prefer to watch the race on TV as you can follow all the little incidents, but I am Very excired and can't wait :). Lets hope it's dry....

I've got tickets for Sunday as managed to get my company to agree to me taking an important client. We're in the Silverstone Six hospitality area, so fingers crossed that it's good.

Can't wait as I've never been, I also prefer watching motor racing on TV, but looking forward to experiencing a real race day.

Any tips on driving there would be appreciated e.g. how much additional time to allow etc.

Hoping my wife treats me to the Monaco GP one day :)

I'm parking at the circuit which is a gamble both because of the traffic and also if it rains then the carparks will turn to mud. I'm going to add a couple of hours to my travelling time to allow for traffic and delays. Tips from me would include use a good sun block as I once got very badly sunburnt at the British Grand Prix. I walked around the circuit all day and when I got home I was salmon like and still see the damage years later .

I've booked for the whole weekend and park my car at Hinton in the Hedges airfield. Yes it can be quite muddy there in the rainy season!

Is any one else going or got any further advice.

I advise to take lunch with you , when i went 2 years ago the food was terrible .
Other than that just enjoy the noise

Ear plugs are a must if you want to protect your hearing.

I agree with the comment about food, it is okay if you like burgers, faux chinese etc. I stay in a Travelodge where there is a Marks and Spencer and buy food from there.

Light waterproof clothing is essential if the weather is likely to be inclement and also, comfortable boots to be kind to your feet.

I do get annoyed by the extras. Tickets plus £12 to park, £6 to post my tickets, £2.50 booking fee per person (over the phone not internet)....

You'll love it! Just enjoy the whole day & experience, there is nothing like a F1 car at 'full-chat' - the noise, braking distances, cornering speed, sheer acceleration etc etc

What time do the park and ride coaches from Hinton leave to go to the circuit? It doest say on the website. Is there only one departure or multiple? Thanks.

earplugs ( oops already said, never read all the mails)
