Well had no luck getting snapped inj bolt out of hole 6. A mobile mechanic was supposed to come and sort today but didn’t show up and wouldn’t answer his phone ! So unless I can find another reliable mobile mechanic it’s going to be a head off job..... I would have ago myself as I’ve taken the head off my old lotus Carlton back in the day when I was in ownership but apparently Merc s are a bit more complicated ???? So I have even got to get the car to a garage worse case !

It is do-able, you need to remove a lot of bits though. I did mine and had never done one before although I am good with tools.

Ooouch ! £420 to remove a snapped bolt..... company is in north London but are mobile but that’s still seems expensive ?

Then again travel time, labour, fuel, fitters time, use of materials and tools etc etc I guess it’s fair enough. Quoted £650 just for head on and off to get thread out of head at my local town.... so I suppose it’s less than 1/2 the cost but I will wait and see if my mechanic friend can shift it later before I dive in.....

Cheapest way is to drill it out and put a timesert or helicoil in its place ,

I bought an extractor kit and managed to loosen the end enough until I slipped and then left it but then my mechanic mate popped round and sharpened a flat screwdriver and tapped it with a hammer and managed to screw it out so we put my car bk together and it’s running again ! I’ve have been extremely lucky this time !

Have I missed something here ? Which bolt is this ? are there photos I can't see for some reason :dk: Excuse me if have lost the plot. I am sometimes easily confused

No pictures, it was an injector bolt.

Yes it was no 6 injector bolt mate, but all sorted now

I’ve always done engine oil changes myself and seemed to clear the service reminder on the dash somehow....

Cj320cdi The oil changes are a piece of pie .How about other jobs like replace the water pumps. And some jobs requiire half the engine parts removed to just get in there to operate on it .Not designed with owners in mind,, but made in a way to frighten you , so that owners will take them in to the dealers to get the job done .Even tools are special and made hard to get .

Had to change the wate pump on my previous E320 CDI W210. What a pig.
But I found an easy way of doing it without specialist tools

Optimums prime. Lol I’ve stripped just about everything on my car but I was actually just stating the fact that after the engine oil change the car reset itself and the service indicator went off.... tbh I don’t enjoy tinkering with cars like I used to so I would sooner my local garage do any work from now on...

W211, 03 lol apparently THE worst model for maintenance

I would not say that W210 320cdi is hard to maintain... Engine is same as yours .
The only problem That killed it was RUST....due to poor quality paint from factory
