This and that.
Maybe this should be in the IT section.

I went onto ebay.co.uk this morning, and was told that I had to upgrade my browser settings, as the search I did only displayed as text.

Is this legit.?

I had that once a couple of days ago, went back into the same search and it was fine. It's not happened since. AFAIK I'm running a pretty current browser (IE6 SP2).

Same here.

I was reluctant to try a second time, in case I'd been redirected.

Thanks

PJ

Had that a couple of times (not every time) this week. I use Mozilla Firefox - there was an upgrade available, I upgraded and haven't had the message again.

I guess if you're going for an upgrade just make sure you put the site address in yourself rather than following a third party link.

I've had it several times, when I refresh the page its gone. I'm running the latest IE version too.

I thought perhaps I was being taken down a dim, dark alley by a bloke in a mac who wanted to get me out of my identity so that he could wear it like an ill-fitting necktie while he went around the internet making bouncy payments in my (his?) name.

Fortunately, it looks like my fears were unfounded. Either that, or he's got to all of you first, and you're all him
