Hey all.

I have a 2012 C250 Petrol. I did a short drive last night back from work with the heating on at around 22c. Once I got home and turned the engine off I could hear a bubbling/gargling noise from the dash. Any ideas why this is happening? I didn’t notice any water in the footwell and coolant level seems fine too. Thanks in advance.

Well unless you have that very rare extra of a expresso coffee machine under the dash :D I would agree with W1ghty it may well be the aircon, give it a couple of runs today and see if the noise continues, lift the bonnet that might help with just where the noise is coming from.

As above you may have lost gas in the aircon system-an aircon specialist can check the system pressure for you usual failure is physical failure /damage to the condenser at the front of the car.

If you had an iCarsoft MB II or MB V2, you could check the aircon pressure yourself. Other diagnostic readers might well be able to do so too, but I've only ever had the iCarsoft.

You get noise when the aircon gas is low. It may work, but gas could be low.

Failing that "usual", (as the refrigerant is boiling excessively in the evap') it 'MIGHT' be air /void trapped in the heater core.

Or blocked drain holes leading to the fan motor housing being full of water? Happened in my old Saab....
