Budding photographer!

In answer to pm's
1. Fuji fFinepix S1000FD (12x optical zoom)
2. Zymol!

Got a good eye for angles.

Some nice shots, is he into photography already? If not he's got some talent there that needs to be used.

Perhaps you should indulge your son on his birthday/xmas with a mid range digital camera to get him started off. Looks like you know a fair bit about photography so could help him out....

I assume he (like most 15yr olds) is interested in driving/cars. A trip (father and son) to brooklands, MB world in Germany, Gaydon Heritage centre to see cars, and maybe indulge in the driving of them, with some photographic memories would be a nice thing to do and see him started off.

I particularly liked the one in B&W-captured the angle of the car perfectly ;)

Photos look v good indeed - 10/10! Looked at the others above too- can you pop over sometime and fit Comand/brake calipers on my W203 as well please?
Pedal mods help would be good too if you have the time!:o:o:bannana:

Very nice shots. Well done.

Must get round to doing some night shots sometime.

Thanks. He goes to a photgraphic club and has learnt a bit there.

We got him the fuji as a step up from a basic camera and he has a Nikon SLR which he is just learning about film on. We've been to Brooklands, MB World Stuttgart, Singelfingen factory and the Mercedes Museum....we are both car and camera fans!

Glad you like the photos mike! Re the mods...I know a man who can;)

I'm kind of thinking I like the blacked out grill effect in the 4th and fifth photos. What do people think??

Looks good in that lighting, however bring it in to natural day light and it could just look a wee bit - well, Barry. IMO

I suspect you are probably right, but it does look OK in those photos!

R2 - Let me have a name/contact number please.:o

Steve's number is 07710 106120. He would prefer to be rung between 5-7pm ie after work;) If you tell him Greg gave you his number he'll mod and star until you are content!

Good photos and shows a maturity beyond his years. He should be encouraged to develop his talent further. Its a difficult and VERY competitive world to enter in a professional way. Very few photographers are able to make a good living from using a camera, except perhaps from weddings and the like. He somehow needs to develop his own "style". Something which when people look at his photos can identify with. Which is not just difficult, its almost impossible, Yet all the great photographers had their own niches and traits. He has plenty of time to develop his own course and I hope he makes it. Photography is like snooker. It looks easy until you try it.

Thankyou. I'll pass on your comments. I think he should combine photography with something else in order to make him more employable or better still more "self employable". He is just 15 so it's early days but he is enjoying learning and spends all his money of photography related stuff. thanks for the feedback everyone!
