Sigh....it had to happen, I christened the wing mirror on my W163 ML. Fortunately, it was just a clip to a tough transit mirror casing (with no damage at all  ). However, my electrics are fine, just the mirror glass cracked. How much for one of those then?

Bum!

I would put £100 that was not what you said at the time!

It Could Be Worse

I Had The Front Bumper Painted 1000 Miles Ago, So Far I Have List The Towing Eye Cover And Scratched It Twice!

I know, I should be greatful I haven't gorged a great chunk out of the car, or perhaps I should put it into a bit more perspective...could be up to my eyes in flood water!

I think you can get ones that stick over the cracked glass for about £5-£10 which work OK as long as you don't rely on heated mirrors.

Try Ebay and Halfords etc.

Had a quick look on ebay, apart from one E class mirror at £50 (listed as original price £235!) I can't find another one. Anyway, what do you reckon to this site?

http://www.wingmirrorman.co.uk

Doesn't have ML listed, but perhaps it's the same part number as another vehicle?

A quick search on the parts site infers about 200 quid for an electrochromic, about 40 quid for a standard one, there's a lot of mirror glass part codes though!

Is there a part number on the back of the glass?

Yes, just had a gander:

A163 810 2719
R+S 380.137Z
Date: 10/19/06

Maybe it's happened before, my car is 2004

Cheers

Lucky - that's a cheap one.

According to www.mercedes-benz-parts.co.uk that's 41.36+vat and shipping. I've found that walking in, or emailing the dealer and saying "order me an a123456789, should be about 41 quid" tends to go without argument...
