I've a 2000 W208 CLK and have noticed when on full lock (three point or parking) theres a kind of bump/clunk from the axle/wheels as if something is catching then releasing.

Car is totally standard on 16" merc wheels.

Any thoughts anyone?

i'm getting the same thing from my passenger side actually. Just replaced the lower ball joint (which was worn) but to no avail. On lock the tyre seems to 'skip' or judder

No not repetitive. It's almost like the tyre/wheel is sticking then slipping or even catching on the bodywork then freeing up and only happens when I'm on full lock and at slow speed (obviously).

I have had this before, it pays to check basic things.

Check the tightness of the wheel bearing, if its loose you will get that sound on ful lock.

Could well be a loose wheel bearing as another poster suggests, have you had a look for abnormal tyre wear as that would give useful information if present?
