Hope someone can help! 2003 CLK W209. :wallbash:

I am changing the rear outer wishbone bush that is on the bottom of the wheel carrier; however I think that after pressing the old bush out the outer sleeve is till in the housing. I have attached links to pics of the removed bush and the new bush.

I'm positive the lining is still in there but it looks like it wont pass the outer edge of the carrier.

Can anyone confirm that this should come out?

Car up on jacks at the moment and obviously going nowhere until I get this sorted.

Cheers

Yes, that lining should come out.

We fit them using a special tool as its tricky to do it without.

Cheers Olly. I was positive it should come out, but as I say the opening to the bush housing appears to be smaller then the lining (if that makes sense). I suspect having never been changed in 13 years that it may be corrosion at the opening on both sides. Suppose I'll have to skim a mil or so off.

Thanks again.
Steve

Did you manage to get them out in the end?

Just changed mine and came out easier than I thought, suspect they were the original ones and very bloody squeaky!

Keith.
