Business v personal lease price

Why aren't personal lease prices the same as business plus VAT prices?
I've seen some really good prices for business leasing circa £239 per month, thinking that should equate to £286 but it comes to £395. No changes in deposits to balance the difference either.

I thought they were the same, that was certainly the case when I took mine out earlier this year. My leasing firm told me it was purely so the company might reclaim VAT.

A VAT registered business can only recover 10% VAT so there should only be 10% difference between two deals from the same provider. Like with insurance, not all deals are available or competitive in all scenarios.
