I have not been a Mercedes owner for too long but having owned a C240 Sport for approx 4 months, I wish I would of bought one a long time ago. I have always owned quick cars started off on GT Turbo's, bought a Mid engined turbo 2 which I've still got, then bought a Gti-R which I spent a fortune on modding, Celica GT4, an Sti Impreza then onto a ST200 Mondeo (sad) and onto a Alfa 156 Selespeed before I bought the Merc.
Anyway the reason for this post is that the 240 is just too slow, no painfully slow, kickdown is just crap and it takes an age to get to 60, not that I'm a boyracer or anything.
So I have deceided that I am going to buy either a W202 C32 or C46 or even a C55 if I could find one, does anyone of any good cars out there for sale or reputable dealers who have any on there forecourt, I'm only looking for 1999 models onwards though.
Also could anyone let me know what generally goes wrong on the AMG C class models, if anything.

Thanks in advance

Jon

There is only one 1999+ AMG w202, the C43, which has a 4.3 litre V8. There were only 30 C55 models ever produced, it is a factory special and you don't see them for sale very often, there are only 5 in RHD.

The C43 will be as reliable as any other w202 of the same age.

the one on ebay has no xenons, and doest have 2 tone interior, or folding mirrors, or electric rear blind. but otherwise seems ok.

Nothing has gone wrong with mine :)

But on the other hand Billy's C32 was a lemon - really bad gearbox :(

The two tone leather ( black and white ) is ok when its a new car . AS it ages , it starts looking crappy.

Best to go with black on black.
