Hi Guys

A friend is looking to buy a C-Class, he wants to spend around £7K, what are your recomendations and are there anythings to look out for?

Regards

Tan

get a nice C class for that,

things to look out for apart from usual bodywork is

faulty/noisey

waterpump (not too expensive to replace)
CAT (expensive to replace)
Tensioner shock (cheap to replace)

if its a C280 (m104 Engine) then check for signs of headgasketity issues.

will think and post as I remember....

make sure u get extra options such as all electric windows, and aircon/sunroof.

a facelift version would be nice to get also.. bear in mind early W202's never had ASR.

Not much to add.

Def. don't buy without Air Con or Sunroof.

Lots of C180's for that money, but can only recommend at least a C200.

A post '97 would be good.

Check for rust around boot lock, quiet operation of windscreen wiper and electrics in general. There is a relay that controls heated rear window, indicators and a few other key gizmos that is prone to failure.
