Buying An A45 My Experience

I've had the same problem in the past as I look younger than my age (so I am told).

I remember trying to buy a new 328ci once back in 2000 to upgrade from my 7 year old E36 325i. One particular salesman thought I was wasting their time and told me they couldn't get demonstrators. Nothing positive like could they let me know when one came in etc.

In the end I spent the £25k on a 3 year old M3 Evolution instead and made sure when I was at the dealer to show the salesman.

Probably he couldn't care less, as people like that are too up their own rseholes, but I felt a lot better about it.

And what a difference in car too! :D

I've dealt with many slimy salesman since (and it's always men - the saleswomen I've spoken to seem really nice including the one I bought my current CL500 from last year).

They simply don't get the business as I fear rewarding failure is not the way forward.

Yeahh im not sure if i should make a complaint about the 2 dealerships that iv had a bad experience with.

Id love an E36 right now [emoji7]

Once i pick up the car i might pop down to the dealership and show them my beauty and tell them what could have been their sale

Best keeping it out of sight if possible ,in a garage or something.
Better to keep the scrotes away altogether if you can .
Definitely a steering lock (the big yellow ones of old) on it as well if parked on the street.
A guy on another site has just had his Porsche stolen by way of the hacking the keyless go signal by all accounts and he had no garage so it was obvious to the weasles going by.

Well done, a fine choice indeed! You will not be disappointed I promise you. I had my A45 for 2 great years and have just moved to new C63 S Coupe. A very different car but both are fantastic motors in their own right.

There won't be much that will be able to keep with you off the mark to 40ish, including me! :-)

I think the a45 is the perfect step before owning a c63, you can never get bored of the hot hatch. The fact that i can take any car off the line is extremely satisfying lol.

C63s Coupe [emoji7] an absolute stunner, what spec did you go for?

Watch out for electrics though, there's a lot about now that are an embarrassment looking for someone to happen to.

Glad you took my previous comment the right way, I've been caught numerous times in the past with cars and bikes when a salesman lends you something better...they know what they're doing! In fact, when I ended up with the 55 I was only looking for a 320 but the dealer just happened to get one in :wallbash:

It's not so bad when they're miles apart, like an S63 coupé for instance or something you can't afford whatever glasses you put on, but just a rung or two is often bad news.

Once went into a Jaguar dealers looking for an XJ8 4 L Sport to test drive. As they did not have one they suggested testing an XJR8 as the suspension set up was similar. Guess what I bought!

LOL yeah i get what your saying, its another way to up sell into a bigger car something my accountant wont like the sound of but it's definitely in my next 2 year plan to get my hands on a C63s. Now the s63 is worth asking for but the branch im dealing with isn't the biggest nor does it have a variety of AMG cars.

Roll on September the 9th [emoji31][emoji1374]

Damn salesman, i walked in like a kid in a sweet shop, probably the easiest sale his ever had, i walked in knowing exactly what i want, thats what you get for months of research and dribbling all over the laptop. [emoji23]

I remember that feeling when I went to see my last car.

Incredibly hard to maintain a poker face and try to negotiate a better deal.

I did alright in the end but it was tough.

When I was 22 I went to buy a Pug 205 Gti 1.9, a car I'd worked and saved hard for.
Ended up buying a 2 year old 15k car. Was so exited going to the garage I think I'd still have bought it for double the price

I know its difficult after the the test drive i didn't stop grinning. I wanted to throw my money at him and demand the car there and then but im glad i had my friend with me to calm me down and i got a deal i couldnt refuse. Loved every second of it, makes it even more special buying an AMG.

Its just knowing you can afford it and are willing to do anything to get it that drives me crazy.

Iv finally been given the approx date of delivery and honestly im contact with the sales guy almost every day, unbearable.

Congrats on the purchase! I've had my CLA45 for around 20 month now and it was regrettably under 2 years PCP. Now deciding on my next move. Pay the final payment and keep it another year or move on to something else. Not a lot catching my eye at the moment!

I know that excited feeling.
Years ago I ordered my first brand new car which was a Subaru Impreza RB5 which was a special edition they were bringing out. I had actually ordered a standard Impreza Turbo but the colour I wanted was discontinued so the salesman phoned me to say I could have first dibs on the RB5 or my deposit back. They were bringing it out to celebrate Richard Burns winning the world rally championships (I think ).
I think the wait was about 13 months or so and it nearly killed me waiting that long.
I must have phoned the sales guy a hundred times for updates as well as calling in to see what cars they had in , and I have to say he was very patient and pleasant about it although I guess it was just another car sale to him .
Anyway driving it out of the showroom was the best feeling in the world .
Hope September comes quickly for you.:thumb:
