Just replaced the 17" Ceginus (AKA Evo II, AKA Mille Miglia) wheels with staggered AMG 18" 2-piece.

Been out for a drive this evening ... no harshness issues at all (phew), possibly the ADS masks any slight difference between 17" and 18"? Downside is it would probably look better lowered a touch, but AFAIK this isn't possible (unless you can fool it into thinking it's doing 120 kph, where it drops 15mm ...).

Terrified of kerbing them of course  - got seat memory 3 set up as the normal seat position but both mirrors angled right down, so I can see the kerb each side :D

Oh, and for those who saw the car at the Midlands GTG please note I have the normal number of front indicators (one per side ;)) now, thanks to Malcolm/Television.

Subtle visual improvement, IMO Bill.

Nice one

Yes, could do with losing an inch or so...

I'm sure there's a "spare tyre" joke in there somewhere :D

Looks nice

Back looks fine, front a tad high? but like it

Nice

suit the car far better. A vast improvement.

The lowering issue is quite personal.

Thanks guys.

That was the most flattering pic. of the car; in brighter light (where the wheel arches aren't in shadow) it does look noticeably high at the front - gap between wheel and arch must be 3-4". I'm happy with the rear.

It's been that way since I had it e.g.

Never occured to me that I could tweak via the front ride height sensor. I will try to have a look at this over the weekend.

Looking very smart, I like both sets but I'll stick with the Monoblock IV's, the SL has cost me enough over the past few weeks!

looks great .. matches well .. same era.

what are you doing with your old wheels?

In the second picture the car does actually appear higher at the front than the rear judging by the height of the sill from the road.

If adjusting it on ramps it won't settle at the correct height until all four wheels are back on the road again. Best done on a 4 post ramp if possible.
Small adjustments will have a marked difference, and remember to lube the swivels while under there.

Thanks. All I've got is axle stands so it will be a bit trial & error :(

Is there either a friendly local garage or a Citroen specialist near you.?
